"The Ones Who Almost Didn’t Make It": Our International Loyalty Awards Adventure 🌍✈️🏆Imagine this: You're all set to attend the prestigious International Loyalty Awards in April 2024. Sounds exciting, right? Well, our journey was anything but smooth sailing. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how we almost didn’t make it!🛫 Act 1: The Flight Fiasco, our story began with changing our flights FOUR times from April 18th due to work commitments. But hey, flexibility is our middle name!🛂 Act 2: The Visa Nightmare, fast forward to the morning of April 20th, 8am, just 5 hours before our flight. Cue the panic: "Do we need visas for Dubai?!" Spoiler alert: Yes, we did. With a 1 PM flight looming, chaos ensued.📱Act 3: The WhatsApp Hustle Frantically, we shifted our flight to 6pm and scrambled to arrange 3 visas over WhatsApp with a contact sitting in Dubai. Picture us pacing, typing, and sweating bullets all at once.⌛ Act 4: The Last-Minute Miracle By 2pm, just as we were about to head to the airport, our visas came through. Victory dance? More like a relieved sigh!🏆 Act 5: Award-Winning Triumph Despite the hurdles, we triumphed and won TWO incredible awards - "Loyalty Redefined" and "Best use of Technology!" Cue the celebrations and photo ops.🚫 Act 6: The Trophy Troubles, on our return flight to South Africa, the drama wasn’t over. At the boarding gate, we discovered our glass trophies couldn’t be carried as hand luggage because our bag was too heavy. Seriously?! We then begged our way, bag in toe through the boarding gates.🎉 Epilogue: The Heroes’ Return Against all odds, we made it back with our trophies (after some strategic negotiating - aka groveling). What a journey!Here’s to the resilience, quick thinking, and a bit of luck that got us through. Our Trophies now sit's proudly on our CEO's desk, showcasing our excellence.
