3 QUESTIONS

...about the NBA conference finals

The NBA conference finals kicked off last night. I talked to Dan Devine, a seasoned NBA reporter, about what to look for during the next several games.

Lily: Refresh me: What exactly is this round of the playoffs?

Dan: The conference finals are the NBA's Final Four. The two teams that win the Eastern and Western Conference finals play for the championship.

Lily: What excites you most about these conference matchups?

Dan: In the East, I wonder if the Pacers, whose offense overwhelmed the injury-stricken Bucks and Knicks, can make the top-seeded Celtics sweat. In the West, the Wolves and Mavericks have elite defenses backstopping All-NBA playmakers. It’ll be war.

Lily: Best moment of the playoffs so far this year?

Dan: Donte DiVincenzo's game-winning 3-pointer in Game 2 of Knicks vs. 76ers. The MSG crowd went so nuts that I could literally feel the floor beneath my feet shaking.
