Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The First-Year Admissions Coordinator is responsible for thefollowing duties:
- Recruiting highly qualified high school students
- Daily management of a geographic region
- Participating in on and off-campus recruitment events
- Traveling extensively in the assigned region in order toattract qualified students
- Evaluating applications for admissions
- Meeting and communicating effectively with students, parents,high school counselors, alumni, student volunteers and faculty
- Representing UNCW in college fairs and in the community
- Applying related policies and regulations of the UNC System,UNCW, and the Office of Admissions
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training andexperience. All degrees must be received from appropriatelyaccredited institutions.

- Excellent public relations skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Know how to exercise judgment and discretion in working with awide range of internal and external constituencies
